Phantom supply for instruments
One of the challenges musicians face is being
able to use a condenser microphone with an
instrument amplier or eects pedal. Radial
comes to the rescue with the StageBug SB-
48 UB. This unique phantom power supply
uses standard 15V supply to generate 48
volts, enabling the arst to use a condenser
microphone or acve DI on the guitar, upright
bass or mandolin. A choice of standard
balanced or unbalanced outputs allows the
player to connect a condenser microphone to a
Radial PZ-Pre or PZ-Deluxe or any other typical
unbalanced instrument input.
When interfacing acve sources such as
condenser microphones or direct boxes with
mic spliers or older PA systems, generang or
roung 48V phantom power is oen a problem.
The StageBug SB-48 Power Bar is a dual channel
48 volt phantom power generator that converts
15 volts from a typical power adaptor to 48
volts for condenser microphones and direct
boxes. This handy device can be inserted near
the source allowing DC blocking devices such
as isolaon transformers to be used aer to
prevent noise caused by ground loops.

stereo pair is also equipped with a high-pass
lter to eliminate low frequency resonance.
Inputs include a choice of ¼” TRS or
a DB-25 inputs for convenient connecon to
most audio interfaces. It can be used to apply
warmth and distoron on individual channels,
but is also equipped with a clean and powerful
mixer to provide sought-aer summing in the
analog domain. Each stereo pair can be assigned
to the mix bus, and mulple Space Heaters can
be linked together to create a larger mixer. The
mix bus output includes its own level control
and separate headphone amplier. Channels
1-8 can be output individually through a DB-
25 connector, while the summing mixer main
stereo outputs are XLR. As an added bonus,
each channel features balanced TRS send and
receive insert points for patching addional
outboard gear. This exceponal feature set
makes the Space Heater ideal for warming
up sterile digital tracks, vocals, adding grit
to bass and producing crushing drum tracks.
Used live, it delivers a natural sound to in-ear
monitors without having to revert to lackluster
compression.

Boston Pops
Orchestra
“The great ongoing challenge with
reinforcing the Boston Pops is to achieve
a convincing blend of amplied and
unamplied instruments. With the PZ-DI’s
great sonics we are easily able to blend bass
and acousc guitar into the natural sound of
the orchestra.”
